The Gilas Pilipinas got the bronze medal after defeating China in their match with the score of 80-79. It was a crutial game after Makan made two freebies for a 79-77 lead with 46 seconds left.

China had a chance to extend the lead to four points but failed to make two more free throws in the next play. Tenorio grabbed the rebound and quickly fired a pass to Lee who was waiting in the left wing ready to fire the three points and fouled.

Paul Lee knocked down three pressure packed free throws with no time remaining in the ball game to give Gilas Pilipinas the bronze medal in the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup, 80-79, breaking the hearts of hosts China.
